The Great Wall is a symbol of China ’s ancient civilization and a testament to construction techniques that have stood the test of centuries.

Badaling Great Wall

The first section of the Great Wall to open to the public , is located 65 kilometers north of Beijing . It is in the strategic point with the elevation of over 880 meters.

Mutianyu Great Wall

Mutianyu located 75 kilometers northeast of Beijing is covered with grass and evergreen trees fed by natural springs. At Mutianyu Great Wall, you can see the natural and lovely villages by the streams at the foot of the mountions. Near Beijing , it is less crowded than other sections of the Great Wall, even in peak season.

Simatai Great Wall

Stairway to Heaven, Simatai entirely built on the cliff is 130kilometers northeast of Beijing , and has 135 whatchtowers. It retains all its original appearance and is considered the most beautiful and dangerous section of the Great Wall. On the watch tower called Wangjinglou( Watching Capital Tower ), , you can enjoy lights of Beijing at night in the distance. It is a 4 hour hiking distance to Simatai from Jinshanling Great Wall in Hebei province.

Jinshanling Great Wall

Though not as steep as Simatai, the Great Wall at Jinshanling ,near the town of Gubeikou, has 24 watchtowers and is considerably less developed.
Perhaps the most intersting thing about Jinshanling is that it'sthe starting point for a hike to Simatai. The distance between Jinshanling and Simatai is only about 10km,but it takes nearly four hours because the trail is steep and stony.Parts of the wall between Jinshanling and Simatai have collapsed and much is in a state of ruin, but it can be traversed without too much difficulty.

Huanghuacheng Great Wall

Huanghuacheng known as the intact Great Wall is located 60 kilometers northeast of Beijing . It was named for the hills covered by yellow flowers and grass in summer time. So it looks like a curvy and white line up and down in the mountains. And what's more, there is a lake and a reservoir fed by numerous springs, which make the wild wall more beautiful.
